Modalities or “styles” are more about helping you understand that there are numerous ways to help you achieve your Massage goals and a good therapist will “blend” them to achieve the best results for you.
The keys to getting a really good massage are that your therapist has proper grounding in a core set of modalities and that s/he is able to clearly understand your wants and needs thus translating them to make your massage fit you. Without this clarity of communication, your massage is just “a massage”, not “your massage“.
